Gratitude Friday: Sisters

There's a special bond among or between sisters. In my case, I am blessed to have two familial sisters. Oh, there is a brother too - but he was always considered the 'chosen one' by all of us! Only kidding - not! We still give him a hard time even as an older man.

My sisters have steered me through conflict, held me in sickness, accompanied me in travels, and assisted me with moves. They have been the providers of many laughs, smiles, tears, jokes, insults and advice. Sometimes words aren't even spoken but each knows what the other is thinking. Each is unique to herself in style and personality. It amazes me sometimes that we grew up in the same family.

I shared a room with one sister, in my 'young' days, who had a habit of rearranging the furniture in our room each week - much to my disapproval. To show my disapproval, I would pack a bag and say in disgust that I was leaving this family; as I got older I just moved to another room. Each time, my other sister would be there with the bag willing to assist me in packing or to move me into the other room. Thoughtful - maybe. Revengeful - maybe. Gotta love them with all their warts and halos.

Special props to my blogging sistas too!

Hi Flygirl, wonderful post! It sounds like you have a wonderful and supportive relationship with your sisters and brother. I have a similar bond with my sis so even in great distances we remain close as if she lived right next door.

I'm also thankdful for our blogging sisters too. Have a great weekend.

What a wonderful post! I have one sister and I can relate to your post. I am the oldest amongst four( a sister and two brothers) and I ALWAYS wished I had an older sister.I love my baby sister, but I always wondered what it would be like to have an older sister.
