PhotoHunt: Purple
The Cape Hydrangeas - the intensity of the color is determined by the acidity of the soil. This bush was planted along side a church which was across from the ocean. I'm not sure if it's just folklore, but the hydrangea heads on bushes near salt water seems to be more vibrant. Maybe the salt air - salt in the soil contributes to its hue too?
Have not spent much time learning the functions of this new mac so I will be posting when I become a bit more proficient. Hope you are all enjoying your summer.

TAG You're IT: My Life is Just a Journey
Tagged by Barb to play this game: My Life is Just a Journey. Sounds like fun - so it goes:
1. If I could live anywhere in the world it would be? Difficult: Toss up between Umbria and Kauai - I think Kauai wins out - beaches much to pretty; people much too friendly
2. Who is your favorite band or singer? This dates me too: Michael McDonald - love his unique voice..and the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan were great bands.
3. If you could be anyone for the day who would it be? Jackie Kennedy Onassis - Although never a big Kennedy fan, she always intrigued me - how she overcame sadness, dealt with the challenges of being a mother and in the social political spotlight, her grace.
4. Concert or a Broadway Show - Broadway by a mile -- I can feel my eyes growing bigger as I watch a broadway show.
5. Do you have theme song for life? This is the toughest question. I love music - many songs have wonderfully inspiring lyrics. I cry (inside) everytime I hear Ave Maria. Keali Reichel's lyrics are mesmirizing, but Lee Ann Womack's, I Hope you Dance...is always present with me.
6. Would you choose a fancy dinner at an expensive restaurant or a picnic in the park? Depends on my mood, but truthfully, I am into comfort these days .. so a great restaurant would be my choice.
7. Favorite place to shop: Any Furla shop would do.
8. Favorite movie: I have to agree with Barb on this one: Something's Gotta Give -- I also LOVED the house!
Now I'll tag four others:

Making the Switch
My Toshiba laptop has just about died on me. It's five years old +; the monitor goes black a few minutes after turning it on. I am considering a MAC...haven't used one in over 20 years. My family, however, is all on MACs and gives high praise to them. I am the last hold-out....

Gratitude Friday: Celtic's Bench
Amen! Such a great, entertaining, adrenalin-rushing series. Alot of sleepy Bostonians - including this one. Have a great weekend. Sunday night should be another great game. Kathy, it might be wager time.

Quote for the Day
"I am so grateful that you have come. I will pour out everything inside me so you may leave this table satisfied and fortified. Blessings on your eyes. Blessings on your children. Blessings on the ground beneath you. My heart is a ladle of sweet water, brimming over." (The Red Tent, Anita Diamant)
I have always had this book on my 'to read' list, knowing the accolades of many women readers. The book has been bought by me, sold by me, and rebought again, but I never did read it until now.
The quote above is one of the lines in the prologue. Sort of similar to the reason for writing a blog, no? Not meaning to minimize the talents of this world-acclaimed author, Diamant's words do seem to be transferable to communicating feelings, desires, experiences, aspirations from literary form to electronic media...just a thought.
