PhotoHunt; Fashion

I checked and rechecked this week's theme:o) Leather, of course, is a key fashion ingredient in Florence!

Although, I can't help to include this fashion statement. Ty was very proud of these rubba slippas because he paid less than $1 for them and they lasted him over 10 years. Sadly (for him), they have met their demise!

Both of these are great. I'm amazed that those shoes lasted 10 years, what a fashion bargain!

Yay! Florence! Leather! Reminds me of my "oops, I accidentally bought a leather jacket" story when I was over myself a couple years ago. Had no intentions of shopping, but my gorgeous jacket lured me in with its "come and feel how soft and supple I am" and "try me on...you know you want to" whispers from the shop window! lol

Don't think he'll find another pair for $1 anymore. They are still pretty cheap though. He should stock up when he's here. He could buy different colors for different occasions. :)

The leather in Florence is incredible! I can still close my eyes and smell it - let alone SEE it!

I am shocked to hear that you were able to find a pair of sandals for that cheap - there were few bargains to be found when I was shopping the markets.

Hi M, fashion is definitely the theme. :) Two great photos! I'm a big fan of leather from Florence too and on my very first trip ever to Europe I remember purchasing a cute leather belt from there. And I Love Ty's flip flops. And for $1 I'd say he really got his money's worthy.

Have a wonderful Superbowl Sunday!

Mahalo for your comments. I can attest that those rubba slippas looked like they were 10 years old.

Ty has a list of items (and I believe is shipping home) that he has sorely missed from Hawaii - poi tops the list. When my son was there, he carried a 3 lb bag in his suitcase for him. Things I can remember from his list, poi, Hawaiian Foods items, mayonnaise, Maui chips, and, of course, rubba slippas.

I had to restrain myself from shopping splurges on leather as well. The first time I visited Florence, between 5 of us we had 7 leather coats!

I love those slippas. Amazing how something for so little can last so long and bring so much pleasure.

Love the slippas! I can live in those. Flip Flops were made for me. LOL... or perhaps I was born to flipflop!
