What Ty misses most of Hawaii is his food. So, we made a special trip (a few times) to his Hawaiian food haunt for poi, lomi lomi and other specialities. I've tried the food but found it - spicy because of the use of onions. Really can't get my taste buds around poi either - although that is the first item on his wish list for visiting relatives!
Hi M, great photo and take for Spicy. Is that Lau Lau I see Ty eating. I miss Hawaii food. I never really cared for poi unless it had lots of sugar. :)
Thanks so much for sharing and now I'm totally craving Hawaiian food.
Annie-I may have mislead you. The poi isn't the spicy dish. Actually, poi, to me anyway, is very bland. It sort of reminds me of a paste with no taste. Now Ty would say it must have a bit of a sour taste for him to enjoy. It seems Kathy only cares for it with lots of sugar! But definitely it's worth a try!

Yes it is laulau, Kathy! Ono Hawaiian Foods. While Ty eats, I visit the vintage shop next door and the paddle board shop on the other side!
I've read so much about poi and would love to try it someday. I love spicy food!
