"Whispering to each other and slowly twirling, the Obamas took their first dance to Beyonce's stylings on "At Last," the classic Etta James love song." (F. Ree, Boston Globe) 'How appropriate.' (menehune)

Funny, I used the same name for my post, but wrote it before the balls started and knew they would be dancing to that song. What a spectacular day! Did you see the Obama family flash the shaka sign to Punahou. President Obama also said "howzit" to the band! Very cool!!
G: Ahh, it was embarrassing as I watched this from work and having tears in my eyes. Ty would have understood! Yes, I saw the shaka sign -- we laughed at that one. I also heard that the new NBC (Katie Couric's network) Congressional reporter, Nancy Cordes, is a Punahou grad. She was good with her descriptions when Punahou marched... Funny that 'At Last' - only sung by Eva Cassidy (one of my all-time favorite singers) is considered our song.
Annie: I agree it was a day to remember with lots of joy. Now, let's hope the prayers and good deeds of new people in government can make this world better. M
A woman, mother, daughter, sister, lover. Live in a technicolor world. Enjoy travelling. A garden is eye candy. Dogs are nice but cats are better. I'm an Amazing Race junkie. I have one foot in Boston and one foot in Hawaii. Prickly pear marguaritas and homemade limoncello are 'bene'! A die-hard rock n roller. Mantra - "Living in the Here and Now". It was so sweet to see Beyonce get all teary-eyed while singing to them. Lots of tears of joy that day!
